Patsy Carter

Patsy L. Carter, age 79, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 29, 1943, in Alexandria, Louisiana to Clara and Leonard Bare. Patsy grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Her family moved to Southern California in 1960 and she graduated from Torrance High School in 1961. A year later, she met Gary Carter in Huntington Beach and soon after they married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Patsy supported her husband and raised her children well. Patsy held various positions at the US Embassies in New Delhi, India and Rangoon, Burma for the Department of Defense. Patsy and Gary retired in San Antonio Texas. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with family, playing tennis and going out to lunch with her friends.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Clara Bare. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gary Carter, daughter Michele Gerner ( Paul), son Michael Carter (Sharon), daughter Lisa Harrell (John), and her brother Ron Bare (Heather). Grandchildren: Daniel (Ashley), Zachary (Kimberly), Allie (Matthew), Jordan, Cole, John, Charles, Samuel, and Ward. Great Grandchildren: Tess, Audrey,Ellie, Wyatt, Mary Kate, Bo, and Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her gentle spirit and sweetness will be remembered by many wonderful neighbors and friends from coast to coast.The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 29th at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
