Col. Behnke served as a Navigator in the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired after 29 years.
Col. Behnke was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Paul E. Behnke; and his sister, Betty.
He is survived by his wife Carol; his children, Karen Seitz (Tom), Jean Rankin (Jim), Diane Castillo (Mike), David Behnke (Linda), Kevin Behnke, Jo-ann Buercklin, Jeff Fox (Sherry), Shawn Fox (Trisha); 15 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Graveside service will take place 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
