

Paul Garza Cardenas born on June 30, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas was called to be with the Lord on April 4, 2015 at the age of 90. He is preceded in death by his sons, Rudy Cardenas, Paul Cardenas Jr. and Billy Alvarez; sisters, Eloria Garcia and Maria Valenzuela; brothers, Tony and Ponciano Cardenas. He was a United States Navy Veteran during World War II. He served during the Asiatic-pacific Campaign and received the World War II Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal. Mr. Cardenas is survived by his children; Pauline Martinez (Ricky), George Cardenas (Virginia), Richard Cardenas (Sylvia), Delfina Perez, Luis Cardenas (Mary), Corine C. Reyes (Felipe), Robert Cardenas, Henry Cardenas, Becky Cevallos (Roger), Tony, David, Jesse, Ray, Danny, Belinda Cardenas and Andrea Lara; 30 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; brother, Luis Cardenas (Elma); also, numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at The San Fernando Cathedral. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
