Paul J. Garza was born on March 10, 1936, and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 26, 2002. A life-long resident of San Antonio, Paul was a devoted family man, and a gifted and dedicated teacher. In his 40-year career he taught various subjects such as Biology and Chemistry at Lanier, Antonian, and Highlands high schools, touching the lives of countless students. He was patient, kind, giving, and soft-spoken. He touched the lives of all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Pablo Garza, his mother Elena Morales de Garza, and a sister, Annie May Montemayor, and her husband, Joseph Montemayor. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorothy Garza; a daughter, Suzanne Shaw and her husband, Ray Shaw; a son, Brian Garza and his wife, Jennifer White-Garza; a granddaughter, Brianna Lynn Garza; a sister, Mary Helen Almaraz and her husband Willy Almaraz; plus many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
