
Paul B. Gipson, Capt. USMC retired, age 32, died June 16, 2001 in San Antonio. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, he attended Eanes public schools and graduated from Westlake High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his commission in the United States Marine Corps in 1990. He proudly served as a logistics officer in the Corps for almost 10 years before being medically retired. Service recognitions include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his involvement with Desert Storm, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Upon military retirement, Paul was employed by KPMG Consulting as a business consultant. A devoted father, Paul supported his children in their activities and took pride in his position as a Cub Scout Leader. He was also an active member of the Presbyterian Church. A man of impeccable integrity, strength and intellect, Paul courageously battled melanoma for over 2 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife Karen and children Christina, Jeffrey, and Jennifer; parents, Robert and Annette; borther, Michael, his wife Adana, and nephew David; grandparents, Lamar and Elizabeth Foster; father-in-law and wife, Lee and Jane Ellen McGuiness; brother and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
