Our great friend, father and mentor Paul Raymond Leeper passed away May 27, 2012 at age 74 due to an accident, while visiting Pennsylvania. His positive energy, sense of humor and kind heart will be greatly missed. He was born January 28th 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to Paul W. Leeper and Nellie (Rizzo) Leeper. Raised mostly in Chicago he joined the Air Force at 17. He had many duties in the military but was most proud to be a recruiter. While stationed in Japan, he met his wife Fumiko (Kathy). He also spent overseas tours in Greenland and Newfoundland.
San Antonio became home when he was stationed at RAFB as a recruiter. He was awarded the AF Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal twice during his service to our country. He retired in 1976 and decided become an insurance agent. What gave him great pride was to work with his sons who joined him in1987 and remained active in business with them until his passing. When not selling they could often to be found on the Golf Course. He was also very proud of daughter Michelle and her husband who both work with the Dept. of State. Paul & Kathy were very proud of their children’s achievements and were married for 41 wonderful years, until her passing in 2004. In 2005 he was reunited by coincidence with Joan Snyder. Soon after they purchased their dream RV and became the ultimate traveling team, snow-birding every year from PA to TX, visiting old friends and making new ones.
