Paul Anthony Lozano

He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Central Catholic High School, later graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 1962 with a degree in mathematics. Paul served in the Army Reserve and spent three decades in civil service at Brooks Army Medical Center and Lackland Air Force Base Wilford Hall, where he served as Deputy Chief of the Surgeon General Information Division.

Paul enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting at the Zapata County ranch of his lifelong friend, the late Jimmy Leo, and annual family fishing trips to Port Aransas. Paul was an avid softball player well into his eighties, competing with the Rebels, Jets, and Blazers travel teams.

Paul was a parishioner at St. Luke Catholic Church for more than 50 years and served as president of its CYO Ministry in the 1980s.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda; his sons, Gabriel and Daniel; his brother, Roland, and wife, Blanca; his sister, Gerri, and husband, John Richard Cervantes; brother-in-law, Eliseo Flores, several cousins, nephews, Rick Cervantes, Michael Lozano, niece Valerie Lozano and two grandnieces, Nevaeh and Nina Rose, whom Paul and Linda cared for in their early years.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 15, at St. Luke Catholic Church, beginning with the rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. and a reception in the parish hall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
