

He was born to Felix Ortega and Elena Rocha in Mimo, Coahuila, Mexico on December 4, 1928. Pedro was preceded in death by his daughter, Priscana Huddleston and siblings Luz Ortega Rodriguez, Baldomero and Jose Ortega.
Pedro was the sole proprietor of Pete's Shoe Shop located near his home on the Southside.
He and his wife, Prisca, recently celebrated fifty years of marriage. Their life together was a testament of Godly and unconditional love. Pedro was a deeply respected, loving and caring father.
Throughout his life, he shared his lifelong experiences, teachings and guidance, a legacy which will be carried on from generation to generation. He was a father figure to many who loved and cared for him deeply.
Pedro had a brilliant sense of humor. He was witty and at times, comical and was known for making people laugh with his fantastic stories and hilarious jokes.
The humble attitude he possessed, for all the blessings in his life, was a remarkable example of gratitude and grace.
Pedro leaves us with a legacy of love, faith and family. We will cherish his memory in our hearts and always remember him as the "greatest father of all time".
Pedro is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Prisca A. Ortega; their children: Iby Elena Ortega; Pete Ortega; Julissa Ortega-Castellanos and husband Jose; Belinda Del Angel and husband, Jose Luis; Sonia Gonzales and husband, Enrique; seventeen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Pedro offered the gift of family that will never be forgotten.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM at Porter Loring on McCullough.
