Peggy’s life was defined by quiet strength, boundless love, and an enduring ability to lift those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and resilience that will forever inspire those who had the honor of knowing her.
During her formative years, Peggy attended Whitehall-Yearling High School in Ohio, where her determination and kind spirit began to shine. She eventually made her home in South Florida, where she worked as a secretary at North Broward Medical Center. In her role, she was more than just a colleague she was a steady presence, a confidante, and a source of kindness to everyone she encountered.
After retiring, Peggy’s passions flourished. Her garden was a reflection of her heart: vibrant, nurturing, and full of life. Animals held a special place in her soul, and her home became a haven for the companions she adored, especially her beloved cats, Abby, Dutchess, and Frankie, who brought her so much joy.
But the true center of Peggy’s world was her family. After the heartbreaking loss of her only daughter, Lisa, Peggy selflessly stepped into the role of mother to her granddaughter, Tiffany. The love they shared was boundless, rooted in unwavering devotion and a bond that could never be broken. Peggy gave Tiffany not just a home, but a foundation of strength and compassion that will carry on through her.
Peggy is survived by her granddaughter and adoptive daughter, Tiffany; her son-in-law, Edward; her cousin Brady and her beloved feline companions. She leaves behind a legacy of quiet heroism, selflessness, and a love so deep it will be felt for generations.
In accordance with her wishes, Peggy will be cremated and lovingly taken home by Tiffany, where she will remain surrounded by the love and memories they shared. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Peggy’s memory to local animal shelters or organizations supporting animal welfare, causes that were close to her heart.
From the peaceful hills of Williamson, West Virginia, to the gardens she lovingly tended, Peggy’s life was a testament to the beauty of a soul devoted to others.
Rest in peace, Peggy Lou Hayes Bell. You will forever bloom in the hearts of those who loved you, a reminder that love’s legacy endures beyond this life.
