Peggy was born in San Antonio, TX, on September 23, 1928. She grew up on dairy farms in the San Antonio area and graduated from Edison High School in 1946. On June 15, 1945, she married Charles Busch, Jr.
Peggy was always busy. She was a homemaker and also worked at Woolworth’s and American Security Life, took care of children in her home for other families, served as a school secretary and instructional assistant in several elementary schools, and later worked to schedule surgery for Spillar Anesthesia and as a personal bookkeeper for Dr. Edna Spillar.
Peggy was born an optimist and an extrovert who never met a stranger. She served as the family historian and was always happiest at family gatherings. As a talented seamstress, she made clothes for herself, her children, and others, frequently making beautiful costumes for competition baton twirlers. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, embroidery, crochet, quilting, and creating Christmas ornaments using pieces of antique jewelry.
Peggy stayed incredibly busy in retirement, receiving the 1997 Texas Association of Partners in Education Volunteer Award for the state of Texas. She learned sign language to communicate with her deaf granddaughter. She became a highly talented porcelain art painter and made hundreds of pieces that she loved giving to family and friends. Acquiring a computer in her late 60s, led to many hours of genealogical research and communication with friends and family. Peggy also enjoyed traveling, and one of her favorite places to travel was Las Vegas to see shows and play the slot machines with her cousins.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Stark, Sr. and Edith (Lewis) Stark; sister Betty Stark; brother Albert Stark, Jr.; husband Charles Busch, Jr.; son Dennis Busch; and grandson Jeffrey Busch.
She is survived by sister Carol Teat of Wylie, TX; sister-in-law Dorothy Stark of San Antonio, TX; daughters Rebecca Busch and Cindy Valdez of Bergheim, TX; daughter-in-law Peggy A. Busch of Georgetown, TX; grandson Brian Busch of Austin, TX; granddaughters Jeanna Valdez of Bergheim, TX and Vanessa Valdez Peláez, and her husband Juan Ricardo, of Chicago, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
