Peggy Maitland Henry

Peggy Maitland Henry, a resident of San Antonio, Texas since 2004, died on Monday, October 17, 2016 in San Antonio. Born Peggy Mary Willett in England on September 14, 1926, she was married to Lt. Robert James Maitland, U.S. Army, and came to this country in 1946. She became a naturalized citizen of the USA at Worcester, Massachusetts in 1953.

Mrs. Henry is survived by her son, David H. Maitland (Dianne) of Kenedy, Texas and three step children: Sarah A. Henry of Loveland, Colorado, Susan H Bastek (John) of Spring Lake, Michigan and Curtis R. Henry (Karen) of Denver Colorado; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Gregory Maitland, Neal and Ian Bastek, Russell and Curtis Hartenstine; great-grandchildren, Silvia and Emmett Bastek, Sarah and Azor Hartenstine, Ayden and Owen Bastek, Sophia Maya Hartenstine and Sawyer Hartenstine.

Mrs. Henry was the widow of Captain B. Russell Henry, U.S. Coast Guard, who preceded her in 1983. While living in Moorestown, New Jersey, she was active in the legal profession, retiring as a law office administrator from the firm of Wells and Wells, P.O. in 1979. Concurrently, she was an adjunct instructor at Burlington County College and coordinator of the Legal Assistant Program until retiring in 2004. Mrs. Henry served two terms on the Supreme Court of New Jersey's Committee on Fee Arbitration for Burlington and Ocean Counties; was chair of the BCC Legal Assistant Advisory Committee until May, 1993; a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and South Jersey Paralegal Association, advisor to Burlington County College Paralegal Club, textbook reviewer of Little, Brown & Company and a contributor to legal periodicals. Mrs. Henry was for twenty years the Executive Director of the Edna and Jack Belasco Foundation, active in charitable giving throughout the Delaware Valley. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Moorestown, NJ from 1960 until moving to Texas in 2004; serving on the Vestry, as a lay reader and on various committees.
