Following high school graduation, Peggy went to work for Blalock Investments in Shreveport, Louisiana as a mortgage loan officer. She married Eldon E. Webb on November 12th, 1960 and was a devoted wife; they would have celebrated 54 years together in a few months. Peggy loved her work but loved her family more, so she became a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her first child. She kept busy with her daughters and their activities and served as a Girl Scout troop leader for several years while in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother Jessie Hughes; her father, Archie B. Hughes; and her sisters, Janell Herron and Laura Ann Luke. Peggy is survived by her husband Eldon; daughters, Donna (David) Holifield and Sandra (Pete) Cilone; grandson, Coyt Holifield; brother Wilton (Carolyn) Hughes; and brother-in-law, Aubrey Luke; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to family, many friends will cherish their fond memories of Peggy. Peggy enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, boating and traveling throughout much of the country. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time at her family's property on the Llano River, and watching the wildlife and birds.
We wish to thank the many caregivers at The Manor at Morningside Ministries and Encompass Hospice Care, as they all provided the ongoing care, comfort and love Peggy needed in her final days.
