

She was born Pencye Poe Pressly November 19,1940 in Greenville South Carolina. Pencye was the eldest of six children and went to Greenville High School and later to Winthrop University where she studied Psychology and Sociology. She met David John Hathaway and they were married and had two children. They moved to San Antonio, Texas where she spent most of most of her life. Pencye was divorced when her children were young, and she worked tirelessly to support her family. She started as a receptionist in an oral surgeon’s office and worked her way up to Marketing Director for the San Antonio Regional Hospital in Mental Health Services - a member of the Methodist Health System, and La Paz Community Health Center.
Pencye was a very loving mother and the truest of friends. Her door was always open to those who needed a soft place to land.
Pencye loved to paint. She shared her passion with her grand-daughters and taught her neighbors daughter’s granddaughter as well.
Pencye is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and James Driver, their daughter Sarah Driver; Pencye’s son, Hunter Hathaway and his daughter Chanell Nash, her husband Sean, and their two children Anderson and Harper, and his son, Christopher Hathaway; her brothers Bill, Frank, and Phil Pressly’ She is preceded in death her parents Benson and Lucy Pressly and her sister Pattye Pressly-Vaughn, and her brother Benson Pressly Jr. and Herschel E Davidson the love of her life.
Funeral service will be on Friday December 29, 2017, St. Matthews Episcopal Church 810 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City Texas 78148 at 10:00 A.M
with Father Tim Vellom officiating.
