He was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 5, 1928. Pete C. Ibarra Jr. graduated from Sidney Lanier H.S.
Pete C. Ibarra’s career started at the very young age of 17 years old in the Armed Forces where he would stay for 30 years; he retired as a Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy. He would serve as a Legislative Aide for the House of Representatives, a Lulac Representative as well as the American Legion and Democratic Party. He was employed with Dee Howard working on airplanes, where he would reupholster planes including Air Force One and even John Travolta’s plane.
Pete enjoyed playing the lottery, sewing/reupholstering, and was an avid fisherman. Family and friends were special to him and he enjoyed every moment spent together. He would often reminisce about his flying days on the Sky Warrior VAP62 by driving to RAF Base to watch the aircrafts takeoff in flight. Always a jokester, he would often play pranks and joke with his family.
