Peter M. Garcia, age 87, of San Antonio, died Friday, October 26, 2001. A graduate from the first class of Jefferson High School in 1932, he attended Schreiner College and Southwest Texas State University. He graduated from U.C.L.A.. School of Meteorology and U.S.C. School of Engineering. Mr. Garcia worked for H. B. Zachry and retired as Director of Engineering from the San Antonio City Water Board. He served as a weather officer in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from the USAF Reserves as a LTC. He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Garcia; daughter, Melinda Garcia Saenz and husband, Gilberto, all of San Antonio; son, Dr. Peter Madrid Garcia, Jr. and wife, Alice of Austin, TX; granddaughters, Alyssa, Elena, Lauren and Averi Garcia; step-grandchildren, Rebecca Toedt and husband, David, Michael G. Saenz and wife, Leslie; brother, Mike M. Garcia, Austin, TX; sisters, Mary Rendon and husband, Rudy, Rose G. Rodriguez and husband, Tony, all of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
