She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus Morin and Ester Cardona Pena, and brothers: David Pena and Raul Pena.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jose “Joe” O. Arguello; children: Mary Esther Arguello and Joseph Arguello (Tina); grandchildren: Andrea Gregg, Alyssa Gregg, Lorenzo Lewis and Joe Arguello and siblings: Gilbert Pena, Silvia Sanchez and John Pena.
Patsy was born in San Antonio, Texas where she resided and attended St. Frances Academy through her mid-teenage years. Her parents moved south of San Antonio to the Somerset area. There, she attended Somerset H.S., for two years, where she met her husband Joe, and then graduated from Somerset H.S. in 1966. Two years later, on November 23, 1968, they were married.
She will be remembered as a very devoted wife and daughter and a very loving mother and sister. She extended that love to her extended family and numerous close friends. She was known by many to be a very honest, fun, loving, caring, and outspoken person who never hesitated to speak her mind or speak up for those less fortunate. She volunteered with the food banks at the Somerset Multi Purpose Center and at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia, Texas. She even completed her civic duty as an elections clerk and at one time, even as an elections judge. She also volunteered with the Southwest Voter’s Registration Project where she assisted in registering and encouraging many people to vote.
She was employed by S.W. Bell/ AT&T for 20 years but was forced to move on to a very different but exciting new career at Southwest Airlines where she was employed and retired from after 13 years of service. Her new career literally took her, and her family to many places, but most importantly, to visit her extended family in Aberdeen, Idaho. She also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband, where they would spend their remaining anniversaries together. When she wasn’t traveling by airplane, she very much enjoyed traveling with her husband, family, and friends to Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas. She was definitely an avid gambler but most importantly she went to have fun with those around her!
