'Grandpa was the type of person that once you meet him, you will never forget him. His smile, his generosity, his kindness, and his mischief.

'Mr. Phil, as everyone at Guadalupe Lumber called him, was one of my first bosses. He hired me to work at Guadalupe during the summers all through high school and even gave me a bonus at Christmas time even though I just worked during the summer months. I'll never forget the first time I heard him rattle off somehting in spanish to the employees. I was surprised at his command of the language and very impressed.
