

Philip Turner Brice "Phil", 90, of San Antonio, TX, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and an adoring grandfather. Phil was affectionately known as "Paw Paw" to his granddaughters and "Uncle Phil" to his many nieces and nephews. He will long be remembered for a great sense of humor and love for his family and friends. Phil had many hobbies but especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and loved ones. He was born in Beeville, Texas in 1924. He was the middle child of five children. He married his wife, Elsie, in 1951, and celebrated his 62nd wedding anniversary in 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Elsie; sons, David and his wife, Joanna, Michael and his wife Tammy, and Franklin and his wife Cordie; his granddaughters, Mary Wells and Kelsey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in his death by his parents, John Martin Brice and Julia Irene Brice; his sister, Irene Scott; and his brothers, Jack, Carroll, and Francis.
He was a United States Navy combat veteran of World War II serving on the USS Tennessee (BB-43) and in the amphibious forces. He was also a Korean War veteran.
