Philippe Duport, 59, born January 12, 1967, in Marseille, France, died April 23, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mireille Roux and Robert Duport. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cser Duport; his sister, Marie Claude Amalbert; his children, Aurélie, François, and Vincent Duport; and his stepchildren, Meghan Clancy and Hugo Varenne.
Philippe pursued business school in France and carried that same discipline and focus into the pursuits that most captivated him. PADI certified, he became a deep-sea scuba diver and instructor, and he took particular pride in opening his own diving club in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt—complete with his own team and boat—bringing others into the wonder and quiet grandeur of the underwater world. His devotion to the sea, the coral reef, and the life beneath the surface was not passing interest, but a steady, defining love.
He was also a highly skilled and accomplished marksman, with a deep passion for all that surrounded the craft—an interest marked by knowledge, precision, and respect for the discipline. In all he did, Philippe carried an unmistakable elegance and a breadth of understanding that made time with him both engaging and memorable.
An epicurean in the truest sense, Philippe delighted in the pleasures of the table: good food, seafood, wines, and whiskies. His curiosity and enthusiasm for the culinary world were enduring, and those who shared a meal with him knew the warmth that came with his attentive enjoyment and generous spirit.
Philippe will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, his smile, and his abiding passion—especially for the sea and for all things culinary. Above all, he was a loving husband and father, devoted to Helen and to his children.
A Celebration of Philippe's Life will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on April 30, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
