Quince L. Wood

Quince L. Wood, born in Leona, Texas on February 10, 1929, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Matthew Wood, parents, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her son, Michael Wood of San Antonio, three daughters: Brenda Dillard of Pipe Creek, Glenda Scales and husband Hurles of Dallas and Machielle Denmon and husband Byron of Vicenza, Italy, one sister, Norvis King of San Jose, California, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Quince, along with her husband and children, enjoyed living in Europe and other places that their military duties took them and eventually settled in San Antonio where she was a devoted, faithful, and active member of Windcrest United Methodist Church (UMC) for over 39 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windcrest UMC, 8101 Midcrown Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78239. Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2012 from 8:00-10:00am at Windcrest UMC, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00am. She will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
