Rachel Forey

Our loving Mother, Grammy “Mema - Nana” and Aunt Rachel Forey has flown home to reunite with her loving Husband on December 20, 2023 at the age of 76. Although her journey brings deep sadness to many who loved, laughed and were comforted by her, we accept her path to eternity and with great faith she lives on within our hearts. She married and shared life’s adventures with her husband Lupe Forey in 1969 and together raised 4 children. Her most accomplished role was served as a proud Wife, Mother and Grandmother of which we will miss dearly. We wish you Goodnight-Happy Dreams-God Bless You-I Love You!

Rachel was preceded in death by parents Johnny and Hortense Cortez, twin-brother Richard; brother Johnny and sister Mary Silva. She is survived by children Cindy (Michael), Anna (Scott), John Michael and Genevieve (Ray); grandchildren Taylor, Devin, Jenah, Jayden, Shannon, Joseph, Raely, Cheyenne and Adeline; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Rachel will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 10:00 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
