Rachel Amanda Pena Harper was born in Mexico City on December 30, 1940 and passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010. She was a devoted daughter and a loving wife with two children that were the light of her life.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rodolfo Pena.
She is survived by her husband, John Y. Harper, Jr., M.D. and her two children, John Ashley Harper and wife, Catherine, Michelle Harper Kuykendall and husband, Bill; granddaughter, Camryn Rachel Kuykendall. Rachel also has two brothers, Alex Pena and Carlos Pea and their families with many nieces, cousins and other relatives in the United States and Mexico.
She spent her life serving and helping others and was loving and sympathetic in her work with patients as an Ophthalmic photographer and technician. Rachel was known for putting others before herself.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31st from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave.
