Rachel Morin Ortega entered the loving arms of Our Lord on December 9, 2023 at the age of 66. Rachel was born in San Antonio,Texas on September 6, 1957 to Jesus and Maria Morin.

Rachel dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She takes with her cherished memories of her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her tenacity, honesty, and commitment to her children and grandchildren.

Rachel is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Maria Morin, sister: Christina Pena, nephew: Manuel Pena.

Rachel will always be remembered and loved by numerous friends, siblings, grandchildren, and children Raymond Ortega III (Marta), Rene Ortega (Lisa), Rosanne Ortega-Gonzales (Luterio), and Reuben Ortega (Esther). Grandchildren: Alyssa, Brandon, Tristan, Miley, Joshua, Madisyn, Savannah, Elijah, Ryan, Ryleigh, Liana, Layla, Mateo, Camila, Carina. Great-grandchild: Israel. Siblings: Jesus Morin, Laurencia Rubalcava, Emma Pena, Arnold Morin, Martina Mierhoff.

The Ortega family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, December 14, 2023, for a visitation starting from 5-10 pm, at Trevino Funeral Home- 2525 Palo Alto Rd. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, December 15, 2023; at Holy Name Catholic Church at 10:00 am, for anyone that would like to join the family. Interment will follow services at San Fernando Cemetery II.
