At the age of 23, he moved from Puerto Rico to New York in pursuit of the American dream. With only a third grade education, Radames worked his way up from being a dishwasher to becoming a top chef at Kodak, where he worked until he retired. He was loved by the members of the congregation at Missionary Church of Christ in Rochester, NY, where he also served as a pastor for many years.
Radames is survived by his beautiful bride of fifty-five years, Maria Mildred Maldonado, and their six children Radames Jr, David, Elias, Albert, Manuel, and Marie Aricelis (Lely) Maldonado. He is grandfather (Welo), to eighteen grandchildren and fourteen great grand children. Radames is also survived by his only remaining brother, Rafael Maldonado.
Papi, will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, giving spirit, forgiving heart, and unwavering faith in God. His legacy includes raising his children as followers of Christ, to love and serve others, and live a life of honor.
