Ramiro was born on January 1, 1949 to Felix, Jr and Ernestina Casiano. After Ramiro graduated from Fox Tech in 1967, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War.
During the war, his heroic actions were recognized with him being awarded The National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars.
While Ramiro was serving in the Vietnam War his cousin, Sylvia Renteria, asked one of her best friends if she could write to him. That best friend was named Irene Delgado. Irene gladly agreed to write to Ramiro. Soon many letters and pictures were exchanged between them. The first time Ramiro saw a picture of Irene, he knew she would be his wife one day. They both quickly fell in love with one another. Upon completing his military overseas, he was able to return home and spend as much time with Irene as possible. Their love strengthened and soon Ramiro proposed to Irene. They were married on November 13, 1971. Ramiro and Irene were blessed with three beautiful children: Ramiro Casiano Jr., Irene Lupita Casiano (Rodriguez) and Michael D. Casiano.
Ramiro started working as a grocery stock clerk at Handy Andy. Within a few years he started employment with Western Auto, with whom he was quickly recognized as their best salesman of the year for the company. Because of his hard work and dedication to the company, Ramiro quickly rose the ranks and soon became store manager. Western Auto would end up becoming Parts of America where Ramiro ended up retiring from after nearing three decades.
Together Ramiro and Irene built a life full of love revolving around their three children. Ramiro had a passion for spending every opportunity outdoors with his family. Whether it was tubing down the Guadalupe River, camping out at Canyon Lake, boating at Calaveras Lake, or fishing down at the coast, he always made it memorable for the family. He loved taking his family on vacations. Anywhere from Disney World, Disney Land, Las Vegas, or Pikes Peak in Colorado, Ramiro definitely enjoyed spoiling his family with road trips.
In retirement Ramiro enjoyed spending time with Irene. They would take many trips down into Mexico exploring different cities and taking in all the beautiful scenery. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He and Irene couldn’t wait to spoil each grandchild every chance they had. Ramiro enjoyed tending to his garden and was so proud whenever anyone passing by would stop to compliment him on how lovely his garden and flowers were blooming. He continued to have the passion for and would go fishing whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Ramiro will forever be missed. Though he is gone from sight, he will forever be carried in our hearts. Without a doubt we will one day be reunited with him. It gives us great joy and peace that he is now reunited with his loving wife, our mother. God knew they both could not be separated from each other for too long, so He called Ramiro home shortly after calling Irene.
Ramiro was preceded in death by his beloved wife Irene Casiano, parents and younger brother Richard. He is survived by his children, Ramiro Casiano, Jr and wife Veronica, Irene Lupita Rodriguez and husband Oscar, Michael D. Casiano and wife Wendy; grandsons Brandon, Steven, Brian and Matthew; granddaughters Alexis and Alyssa; sisters Ernestine Vargas and Alice Palacio (Anthony); brothers Joe Casiano (Cristina), sister-in law Raquel and numerous nieces and nephews.
