

Raquel lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, strength, and service to others. She proudly served her country as a Captain in the United States Army and also served in the United States Air Force, having served during Operation Desert Storm, and devoted much of her professional life to the medical field as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Her commitment to caring for others touched countless lives throughout her career.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Berenice Lancis and Michael H. Guitart. Raquel is survived by her loving husband, Lewis “Bo” Chappelle; her cherished sons, Jared Michael Chappelle (Julia, his spouse) and Eli Timothy Chappelle; her sisters, Virginia Davis, Lillian Guitart, Diana West and Emmy Cannon; her step-sisters, Patty Fant and Laura Mitchell; her stepmother, Margarita Guitart; and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory.
Raquel will be remembered for her strength, intelligence, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family, faith, church family and those she served. Her legacy of love and service will continue to live on in all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary - North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will take place at First Assembly of God San Antonio, 13435 West Ave, San Antonio, TX 78216, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 12:30 pm.
The interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
