Raquel Castro Gaona

Raquel was born on October 22, 1971 in Laredo, Texas to Fernando and Raquel Castro. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas where she graduated from Edison High School and St. Mary's University. While attending St. Mary's University, Raquel met her husband, Rolando Gaona. They were married on June 6, 1998 and established their home in San Antonio.

Raquel will forever be remembered for her vibrant smile and caring nature. She was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Raquel was preceded in death by her father, Fernando Castro and mother-in-law, Antonia C. Gaona.

Raquel is survived by her husband, Rolando F. Gaona, Jr. and their daughter, Alyssa Raquel Gaona; her mother, Raquel Hinojosa Castro; brother, Luis Fernando Castro; father-in-law, Rolando F. Gaona, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Roxanna Aurora Gaona, Lilianna Isabel (Gilbert) Vela, and Adrianna Elfida (Paul) Torres; numerous nieces and nephews including Fernando David Castro, Gabriela Isabel Vela, Daniela Teresa Vela, Paul Dante Torres, and Arianna Rebecca Torres.

The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
