Ray Morris Gilliland

Ray Morris Gilliland passed away on July 26, 2018 at the age of 85. He was born on April 7, 1933 in San Antonio, TX to Lee Samuel and Mildred Mary Gilliland. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Robert Gilliland. He is survived by his loving wife: Sedonia Ann Gilliland; daughters: Julee Castillo (John), Janet Martinez (Sergio), Joy Ritchie (Jake), Joni Sweet (Dave); grandchildren: Stefen Martinez, Naomi Martinez, Kristin Sullivan (Patrick), Nathan Martinez, Alyssa Castillo, Samantha Ritchie, Stephanie Ritchie; great grandchildren: Catherine Sullivan, David Sullivan.

Ray attended Brackenridge High School. He was in the Navy (Medic) attached to the Marines 2nd Airway. He received his B.S. in Microbiology and his B.S. in Pharmacy at UTA. He was a member of Knights of Columbus at St. Cecilia’s #7256 and St. Vincent de Paul # 2040. He was a member of the Bexar County Pharmacy Association, Texas Pharmacy Association and American Pharmacy Association. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
