Born in Dallas, TX, Ray D. Henderson joined the military in 1951 and fought in the Korean War. He went on to have a distinguishing career rising to the rank of Sgt Major before he retired in 1980.
Ray D. Henderson was predeceased by sisters, Jewell Coleman and Joyce Durham.
He will always be missed by his loving wife, Alice Ruth Henderson; his two sons, Michael Ray Henderson and Mark Antonio Henderson; and his beloved sister, Dorothy Henderson and brother, Norman Henderson; as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015, at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach.
