Ray Newberry

Harold Ray Newberry, 71, of San Antonio Texas passed away at his home on March 12th 2018. “Ray” was the son of Noel and Alene, and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Kent Harms, and his two treasured granddaughters, Hannah and Emily. He is also survived by his brother Johnny and two sisters Gerry and Janet, all living in the Harrisburg Arkansas area. After high school graduation, Ray served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After discharge, Ray moved permanently to San Antonio and worked as an Apartment Maintenance Technician until his passing. Ray’s profession allowed many people the opportunity to get to know him throughout the years. He was not a man of many words, however his actions will continue to have a lasting impact on all of the people who were fortunate to know him. Ray was an avid sports fan who rarely missed watching his San Antonio Spurs. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held March 16th 2018 from 4 to 6 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home on Austin Highway in San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray's name to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in support of his granddaughter.
