Raymond V. Contreras

Raymond V. Contreras, born March 15, 1945, in Poteet, Texas, passed from this life on December 26, 2019, at the age of 74 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Romana Contreras; and his father, Pablo Contreras. Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Esther V. Contreras; daughters: Samantha Rae Contreras and Nina Almanza Covarrubias and husband Rey Covarrubias; son: Juan Cruz; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings: sister, Lupe C. Alaniz and husband Leo Alaniz; and brother: Juan V. Contreras; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and good friends. Raymond was always known as a hard worker and had retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters local 142 after working there for 45 years. He was working as a greeter for GO RIO at the Riverwalk when he passed and had been there for a year and a half. He loved all work he did and all people he encountered. Ray will be loved and forever remembered in all our hearts.

A Visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Road, on Thursday, January 2, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, January 3, 2020, a 10:00 a.m. Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 125 W. Whittier St., in San Antonio, Texas. Services will conclude following Mass.
