

Raymond L. Hruzek went to be with the Lord at the age of 85. He was a native Texan, born on a farm near Wharton, Texas. Served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean war. He was an electrical engineer and retired after 32 years at Dow Chemical Company in Houston.
A man of few words but constant motion, his home and garden are filled with his artistic creations. Ray and his wife, Esther, moved to Blanco, then Helotes, where they have lived for 23 years. They were members of the Silver Sneakers and participated in Senior Olympics. They were avid travelers.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Esther Hruzek; son, Robert Hruzek and wife Carolyn; daughter Pamela Embody and husband Tom, grandchildren Nicholas Morphis, and Christopher Morphis and wife Jennifer, and great grandchildren Taliyah and Serenity, numerous cousins, and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Service to be held on December 2, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. Rosary will be recited at 9:30, followed by mass at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
