

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Longoria and Anita Martinez Longoria, and brother Lupe Pena. Ray, as he was known to his friends, graduated from Nordheim High School, proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
Ray was a loving and selfless person who was a friend to many. His infectious smile and sense of humor immediately made anyone who met him want to be his friend. Ray loved to bar-b-que and generously shared this unique gift as often as he could with family and friends. Ray also shared this cooking gift throughout the San Antonio community through his catering business appropriately named, "Catering by Ray".
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Martinez Longoria; daughter, Patricia Longoria Borrego (Andrew); step-daughters, Veronica Delgado (Steven) and Rebecca Valdez (Jason); step-sons, Robert Najera, Samuel Najera, Romeo Gonzalez of New York City, and Ronnie Gonzalez of Aurora, CO; brothers, Florentino Longoria, Ben Longoria (Mary Alice) of Angleton, TX, Pedro Longoria (Anne) of La Grange, GA, Edward Longoria (Nancy) of Alexandria, VA, Tony Longoria, Jr. (Hope) of Nordheim, TX, Ramiro "Ram" Longoria (Linda) of Victoria, TX; sisters, Esmeralda Henry (Sigmund) of Austin, TX, Natalie Felan (George) of League City, TX, Simona Pena (Ernest) of Victoria, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Ray will be remembered by his family as a man who loved his Lord, family, and country. Church on Tuesday the 17th from 10:00 A.M. until Mass begins.
