

Raymond Patrick (Sonny) Senft passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 89, just two days shy of his 90th birthday. Raymond was born in Hanover, Pennsylvania to Raymond J.H. Senft and Mary (Wolfe) Senft on March 17, 1936. Raymond served in the U.S. Army, working in the motor pool in Panama. Following his military service Raymond returned to Hanover where he married Janet (Zumbrum) Senft and the couple raised four children together. Raymond was a committed family man, often working two jobs in the early lean years to make sure his family’s needs were met. He was employed at Keystone Wirecloth and Caterpillar before moving to Cibolo, Texas in 1986. There he worked for Senior Flexonics for 14 years before his retirement in 2000. Raymond and Janet were married for 45 years prior to her death in 2003. He was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them whenever he could. Raymond is survived by his brother Jeff Senft of Hanover, Pennsylvania, his children Brian Senft of Cibolo, Texas, Steven Senft and wife Sherrie of Bulverde, Texas, Cindy Walters of San Antonio, Texas and Debra Gigous of York, Pennsylvania, as well as grandchildren Lindsay Van Hefter and husband Stu, Shane Senft and wife Keely, Jason Gigous and wife Paula, and Alexandria Walters, as well as eight great grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Larry Senft, and his grandson, Samuel Senft. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
Raymond will be laid to rest at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, Pennsylvania.
