He was born in Cleburne, TX on September 17, 1936.
He graduated from North Texas University and grew up in Dallas, TX. Ray has lived in San Antonio since 1968.
He was an Independent Insurance Agent for 45 years. Ray was a life member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition and member of the Go Western Gala Committee. He loved playing poker and gin rummy, loved traveling, hunting and the outdoors.
Ray was always upbeat and had a wonderful sense of humor which made everyone laugh. He loved his family and treasured his two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Helen Wilkinson.
Ray is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, Anne Wilkinson; daughter, Kelli Waters and husband, Richard of Flower Mound, TX; granddaughters, Ashley Bird and Chelsea Bird; brother, Ben R. Wilkinson and wife, Janie; aunt Ruth and Earl Morris; cousin, Myrika and David Doty; and many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff and Doctors on the 9th floor at Methodist Hospital.
