

Raymond B. Wolf of San Antonio died August 10, 2004 at the age of 82. One of the sons of Pauline and Albert Wolf, Raymond was born October 27, 1921, in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in San Diego, Texas. He later graduated from Texas Military Institute, attended Texas A & M, served as an Army Officer during World War II, and then returned to College Station following the war to complete his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Raymond was married to Madeleine Vera Liebmann on June 14, 1944. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends and the memories of a lifetime.
For 39 years, Raymond and Madeleine resided in Brownsville where they co-owned and operated the Acetylene Oxygen Company. Raymond was active in commercial real estate in the Rio Grande Valley and was involved in civic and religious activities, having served as a past president of Temple Beth El, Marc Beaumel Lodge of B'nai B'rith, The Boy's Club of Brownsville and the Rotary Club. He served on many boards and was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He made numerous trips to cities in Mexico promoting commerce for the city of Brownsville.
He loved music, bridge and fishing. He and Madeleine loved to travel. Together they raised three children, Michael, Paulette and Richard. Raymond took pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his loving family: wife Madeleine; their son Michael and wife Cynthia of Beaumont; daughter Paulette and husband Mel Levine of Houston; son Richard of Houston; Barbara Wolf of Dallas; grandchildren Natalie Wolf Barth and husband Brett of New York City, Sallye Wolf of Houston, Ensign Marc Wolf, USN, Andrew Levine of Houston, Derek Levine of New Orleans, Lauren Wolf Carstensen and husband Case of Kansas City, MO, Dana Wolf of Boca Rotan, FL, and Robert Wolf of College Station; granddaughter, Rachel Levine preceded him in death. He is also survived by his brother, Albert Wolf Jr. and cousins, Maurice Nast, Martha Engel and Marilyn Schwartz.
