Rebeca H. Soto, a vibrant and resilient woman full of spirit and grace, entered into the loving arms Our Lord on April 23, 2025 at the age of 78. Rebeca was born on July 25, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to parents, Dolores Fraga and Rodolfo Hernandez, she was their eldest of five children. She was the heart of her home, a steady hand through life’s many storms, and the quiet strength behind generations of love and laughter.
As the oldest, Rebeca naturally stepped into the role of caretaker early in life—a role she continued to embrace with fierce devotion. After losing her first husband at a young age, Rebeca became the rock for her family, working hard with what little she had and holding her loved ones together through sheer will and unwavering love. Even after remarrying and later experiencing the heartbreak of loss once again, she met life’s challenges head-on and once more became the strong foundation her family could lean on.
Rebeca was a woman of many talents and passions. She loved to sew and garden, always creating beauty with her hands. Her love of dancing and classic 1950s rock music meant there was never a dull moment when she was around. She found joy in the small things—Saturday family gatherings at her daughter's home, losing herself in word searches, and getting swept up in the pages of a good book, even the occasional guilty pleasure. Her greatest joy came from being with her family. She looked forward to their weekly get-togethers and cherished every moment spent laughing, sharing stories, and simply being together. Her wisdom, warmth, and wittiness filled every room she entered.
She will be reunited in heaven with her parents, Dolores and Rodolfo Hernandez; husbands, Guadalupe Soto and Alvino Terrazas Jr.; son, Alvino Terrazas III; and brother, Joe Hernandez.
Rebeca will be remembered by her loving children, Lupe Sisco (Paul), Rudy Terrazas, and Lupe Soto Jr. (Norma Moreno); grandchildren, Vanessa Rabago (Juan) and Jamie Sisco (Abrianna Gallardo). Great-grandchildren, Alessandra, Eleena, Elisa, Marissa, Nathan, Elianna; siblings, Jesus Hernandez (Julia), Juanita Hernandez, and Raul Hernandez (Martha). Rebeca’s legacy of strength, resilience, and deep love will also be cherished by all her nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous extended family and friends. Her life was a beautiful example of what it means to show up for the people you love, time and time again—no matter the circumstance.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation for Rebeca will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 starting at 5:00 PM with the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home. A Mass of The Resurrection will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
