Regino G. Portales

Regino G. Portales entered eternal rest on July 7, 2017 at the age of 83. A native of San Antonio, Texas, he was born to Regino and Macedonia Portales on October 5, 1933 and has reunited with his parents, sister Juana Esquivel, brothers: Emilio, Francisco, Luis, and Rodolfo Portales; and grandson Jaime Miguel Portales. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marina Portales, children: Virginia Lujano, Jose Manuel Portales, Veronica Cantu (Lonnie), Patricia Portales Pena (Jose Alberto); grandchildren: Miranda Lujano and several others; siblings: Fernanda Flores, Eusebia Borrego, Raul Portales; and numerous other relatives. In the 1950’s he honorably served in Korea in the United States Army and retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 44 years. The family will receive guests at Sunset Northwest funeral home Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 6:00p.m. with a 7:00p.m. rosary. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 with a procession departing at 12:30p.m. to celebrate a 1:00p.m. Mass at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
