Remigio Garza

After a long and beautiful life the most wonderful man we have ever known, Remigio Garza born on February 9, 1931 in Oilton, TX went to be with the Lord on July 25, 2013 at the age of 82. He left this world surrounded by his family and took his place in heaven, where we know his loved ones waited to greet and welcome him home. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria D. Garza and daughter Angelica Portillo. He is survived by his other children; Christina Garza and daughter in law Tammy Russell; Argelia Portillo, Prajedis Cabrera and Humberto Cabrera; also 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; niece, Pamela Juarez; nephew, David Garza. Furthered survived by his cousins, other relatives and friends. Remigio will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving father, dear friend, proud patriot, and US Army Veteran. One day we will be reunited, until then Daddy will be watching over us with his gentle eyes and loving spirit, waiting. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday July 28, 2013 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart from the funeral home on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South. Memorial contributions may be made to: The American Cancer Society or The Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Association.
