

Rene was born to Jose Rene Alfaro and Gloria Pecina Alfaro in Chicago, Illinois on August 10, 1968. Rene lived with his wife of 16 years, Jennifer, and his two youngest daughters in New Braunfels, Texas for the last 15 years. He was a gifted welder at Tindall Corporation in San Antonio, Texas and was known to be a dependable, relentless hard-worker who was never afraid of a challenge. Rene loved to ride his Harley’s and work on his 1982 El Camino. As a graduate from John F. Kennedy High School, Rene was a proud Westside San Antonian. He loved his family fiercely and would do anything for them.
Rene is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Gloria Alfaro. Rene is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Lizama; his children Rene Jr., Frank, Priscilla (Jacob), Briana, Isabel, and Serena; his grandchildren, Xander, Matthew, and Xaela; his siblings, David (Diana), Annette (Jason), Arlene (Ralph), and Marco (Sally); along with his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
Due to restrictions on public gatherings, the Visitation at Funeraria del Angel Trevino - 226 Cupples Road 78237 - will be limited to 50 people in the building at a time. Face Coverings are required to be worn.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 2nd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Wednesday, March 3rd, a Procession will depart at 9:30 AM to arrive at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church – 1147 Cupples Road 78226 – for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II – 746 Castroville Road 78237.
