Reuben Drexel Lt. Col. Cupples

euben was born on August 4, 1914, in Cerro Gordo, TN.

During his military career Lieutenant Colonel Cupples served with Maj. Gen. George S. Patton, Jr. in Louisiana, where the famed 2nd Armored division earned the nickname "Hell On Wheels"; he served at the Headquarters, Chinese Combat Command, during WWII, with Maj. Gen. Robert B. McClure; and he served with US military occupation forces in both the European and Asian Theaters immediately after WWII.

After retirement from the US Army, Reuben served as a civilian technical specialist for the US air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH, and McClellan Air Force Base, Sacramento, CA.

Reuben had been a resident of The Towers in San Antonio, TX until his illness required treatment at Parklane West Healthcare Facility, adjacent to The Towers.

The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the staffs of The Towers, Parklane West Healthcare Facility and Hospice for the caring and friendly services provided; and to the many friends and the "Towers Angels" who frequently visited Reuben during his stay at Parklane West Healthcare Facility.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Adeline Adlen Englert Cupples, who passed away on July 2, 2002.

He is survived in this life by his four children, Janice Jurgensen of Lexington, KY, Robert D. Cupples and his wife, Ginny of Reynoldsburg, OH, Stephen R. Cupples and his wife, Pam of Merrill, WI, and Donald E. Cupples and his wife, Kathleen of Virginia, County Caven, Ireland; grandchildren, Anna DeHaven, bill Jurgensen, Carole Howell, Catherine Jurgensen, Theresa Crow, Mary Jurgensen, John Jurgensen, Patricia Jurgensen, Marie Jurgensen, Jeanne Jurgensen, Rob Cupples, Beth Swartz, Julia Cupples, Tom Cupples, Richard D. Morrison, Jr., Aimee Morrison, Heather Cupples, Justin Cupples, Adrianna Cupples and Ciaran Cupples; great grandchildren, Rob Jurgensen, Angela Jurgensen, Matthew DeHaven, Elizabeth Howell, Benjamin Howell, Claire Howell, Heather Crowe, John Crowe, Richard Jurgensen, Katy Swartz and Sidney Ivan Morrison.
