'Ricardo 'Richard' was my first boyfriend (in high school) and a real gentleman. I still miss our conversations as friends that we had for years after he married and then I married. My only other boyfriend was my husband (of 54 years) Ciro Cid Lopez. He died of cancer on 11-22-2018, Thanksgiving Day. My thoughts and prayers go to his wife (widow), his daughter and his grandson who he loved very much and spoke of often during our conversations.'

'We were classmates in Runge,Texas for 12 years and continued a friendship over the years. I did not know he was ill. He sent me a birthday card on September 26, 2016, and a Christmas card on December 23, 2016. We often called each other and reminisced about the past. I never knew he was ill. I did not know he died until early November 2017 when a friend in Runge told my sister Petra and she told me. I was dazed and bewildered. Why he did not share his pain with me I will never know and will always wonder. My condolences to his loved ones. I never met them. He spoke lovingly of his family. He loved his job and was always happy when we talked. Richard was one of a kind and I will miss our conversations and our friendship.'
