It is with great sadness that we have heard of my mothers nephew and our cousin Richard's passing. We last saw Richard during a visit he made to Puerto Rico so many years ago. Of course I still remember how great my first summer vacation away from home at his house.It was the best ever. I will always keep the happy memories of our childhood and how great he was. Willow, we will have you and the family in our prayers.

I am so saddened to see the passing of this lovely, happy man - we was a collegue long ago while I was in Santa Fe, NM. Rich was always smiling and made everyone comfortable and happy to be around him. He will be so missed by his friends in NPS!

I am so sorry to learn about the death of Rich. I was the person who first hired Rich to work for the Park Service at Sandy Hook, at the Environmental Education Center. I worked with Rich when he was acting Superintendent at Washita Battlefield in 2000, and again when I was the acting Superintendent at San Antonio Missions in 2008. I will always remember Rich's cheerful outlook on life and his sense of fun. We will miss you Rich - my deepest sympathies to your family.

The National Park Service staff at Washita Battlefield NHS would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Rich's family and friends. Rich served as the Acting Superintendent here in 2002, and to this day, many townfolks remember the time he spent in Cheyenne. We honor his work at Washita and his entire career with the National Park Service.

richie was my cousin and more importantly a good friend. i used to stay over his house every summer when we were kids. we used to have a blast. i didnt see rich much since adulthood and that i regret. so in my mind i still see rich as the mischivous but good kid i grew up with. i will never forget him.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this note. Rich was a bright spot on the San Antonio Missions team--a real "can do" kind of guy with a super attitude and wit. The world is a lesser place without you, Rich.

In 2000, along with Rich, I was a member of the IMR "Orientation to the NPS" team of facilitators. We traveled to both BAND and PAIS to present the week-long training sessions. Rich was a great guy to work with, very dependable and a whole lot of fun! That's a wonderful combination and he'll be missed. God bless you, Rich.

I have a lot of fond and fun memories working with Rich when he was acting superintendent at Washita Battlefield and working together as AO's. I will miss you my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Arias family. Rich will be remembered in my prayers.

I am saddened at the passing of Richard and wish to express my heartfelt sympathies to the Arias family. Richard and I did not know each other well but I had the pleasure of meeting him and enjoying a good meal and warm conversation with him. May God bless you Richard and comfort all those whose lives you touched in so many positive ways.
