
He was born February 16, 1949, in Bayonne, New Jersey to Anthony and Stephanie Arias.
Richard worked on Wall Street for over 20 years where he owned his own seat on the New York Commodities Exchange and the New York Mercantile Exchange. He had a great measure of success in the private sector.
He then moved to the National Park Service where he was a dedicated federal public servant until his recent retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Willow Arias; children, David Arias, Jennifer Mills and husband Paul, Chris Arias and Parker Arias; grandchildren, Ethan and Owen Mills; twin sister, Rose Ann Gurbisz and husband Steve; brother, Raymond Arias and wife Chela; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
