Richard is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia Campa; his father David Campa; his sister, Adriana Campa (Robert Gonzalez); and his beloved nephew, Robert Gonzalez IV. He was also a cherished grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many who will forever carry his memory with them.
Richard was extremely smart and genuinely funny soul whose presence could light up the room. He was known for his time in theater, where his creativity and personality shined, as well as for his impressive computer and gaming skills. Richard had a gift for learning and an even greater gift for teaching, he was always willing to help someone understand something new, patiently and enthusiastically. Above all, Richard cared deeply about the people around him. If he was with you, his goal was simple: to make sure you were having a good time and never felt left out. He was a friend who showed up or took you in, a family member who mattered, and a person whose laughter and intelligence left a lasting impression.
Richard will be remembered for his sharp mind, kind heart, witty albeit sometimes dark sense of humor, and the joy he brought to the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered forever and always.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, on February 6, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm.
