Richard Bert Eidson, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his 3 children (Alex, Erica, and Andrew). He was born on August 24, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama. Richard developed a love of learning early and learned several skills to become a jack of all trades. After graduating high school, he committed to his love of service and enlisted in the Air Force. A great patriot, and not content with serving his country only once, he then joined the Marine Corps. After serving his country honorably, he settled down with the love of his life, Bonnie Marsha Eidson, who has preceded him in joining the Lord. After starting a family with Bonnie, he worked for AT&T for many years, finding success both professionally and personally. After welcoming three children into the world and having had a successful career at AT&T, he then once again decided to follow his passion for service and work as a special education teacher. Described as a gentle giant, Richard was always happy to help those in need, be it with a helping hand or ear. Survived by his mother, 3 children and 8 grandchildren, he is now forever reunited with his beloved wife. His calm support, wisdom, humor, and love will be sorely missed. His example and compassion will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
