He served our nation during Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf War while he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He loved God, guns, and his country and proudly supported the 2nd amendment. He enjoyed collecting guns, going to the gun shows every month. Richard loved spending time with his family and taking trips to the coast, especially Garner State Park. Family time was a big part of Richard’s life, and along the way he created many memories to last a lifetime. Richard possessed a Heart of Gold and extended his kindness and generosity beyond family, believing that all are God’s people. It was not usual to find him helping total strangers that were stranded off roadways or busy highways.
Richard will be greatly missed by all the hearts he’s touched throughout his lifetime. He has left a hole in our hearts leaving us too soon but has also left us with so many wonderful memories that we will forever carry in our hearts.
His life was our blessing, and his memory will be our treasure.
Richard is survived by his parents, his grandmother Esther Avalos, his fiancé Terri Charo, his children, Frances, Azaria, Angelene, Jonathon, Mathew, Anisa, Gabrielle, Joshua, Roman, Jason and Nicholas. And as well as his siblings Raul Jr. (Audrey), Jennifer (John), Michael (Sandra), David, Gabriel, Christina (Juan), and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
