

Richard James Krawietz, age 80, of San Antonio passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1935 to Joseph Stanlik Krawietz and Domicellia S. Yosko in Poth, TX.
He left the farm with $20.00 in his pocket and arrived in San Antonio where he worked several odd jobs before starting work in a photo lab for an aerial mapping company, and continued on to become a pilot.
In 1966 he formed his own aerial photography company, Krawietz Aerial Photography, which is still family-owned and operated. He was awarded the coveted Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award from the FAA for 50 years of accident/incident free flying.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters: Annie Jendrush, Rosemary Wilson, Gertrude Lyssy, Agnes Wiatrek, and Elizabeth Wiatrek and infant granddaughter, Nicole Krawietz.
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Mary Lee Krawietz; son, Richard Lee Krawietz and wife, Susan; daughter, Teresa Krawietz; sons, William Krawietz and wife, Angela; Thomas R. Krawietz and wife, Tammy, and grandchildren, Jacqueline Krawietz, Colton Krawietz, Jason Krawietz and Julia Krawietz.
