Richard Boardman Lillibridge, age 73, died on February 12, 2005. He was born in Amarillo, Texas on August 18, 1931 to Jesse B. and Rachel DeWolf Lillibridge. The family moved to San Antonio in 1937, where Richard remained the rest of his life.
He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1950, and attended San Antonio College and St. Mary's University.
He was an accountant throughout his career, working for several San Antonio companies. He retired from San Antonio Shoe, Inc. in 2002, after almost 23 years with the company.
He was SAS's first accountant. Though crippled by polio when he was 12 years old, Richard never let this prevent an active lifestyle and a never quit attitude.
A pivotal part of his life was spent at Camp Capers as a counselor to young people.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Moses; former spouse Carol Lillibridge Hester; his sons, Gary Lillibridge and wife, Catherine, Greg Lillibridge and wife Susan, his daughter, Diane Buckley and husband, Wade. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kristi, Kelli, Katie, Sarah, Amy, Thomas, Forrest, James, and Gracie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
