Richard Hernandez Medrano, born August 1, 1935, passed away on September 16, 2017 at the age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Amelia Medrano. Richard is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Gloria Medrano; son, Richard Medrano Jr.; daughter, Nelda Lee; sisters, Margarete Vidal and Yolanda Barron; stepmother, Lily Medrano; grandchildren, Mollie Medrano, Emily Pena (Trey), Amanda Lizcano (Carlos), Sean Payne-Mayor; great grandchildren, Richard Lizcano, Ian Lizcano, and Lucas Lizcano. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6 pm – 9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7 pm. A graveside service with Marine Honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 9:15 a.m.
