

Richard Thomas Pryor, 68, passed away on September 18, 2021 peacefully at his home in Windcrest, Texas. He was born in Paris, Kentucky on July 4, 1953 to Robert and Lucille Pryor but grew up in Plains City, OH.
Richard is survived by his wife Marla and their son William, his 2 daughters Tabitha Goetz & her children Richard, Laura, Samantha, James and Nathan & Tamara Schulz and her children Madison, Danny & Charlie who live in WA. He is also survived by his brothers Randy & Nicky who live in OH and his ex-wife Susan Perry also from WA.
Richard, Marla & William lived in Germany September 1992-November 2018 & chose San Antonio, Texas area for their retirement & forever home. Up to the end, Richard enjoyed retirement, their 2 cats- Casey and Mojo and his beautiful home in Windcrest.
Richard retired honorably from the Army as a 1SG after 22 years of service & from Civil Service in support of the Army after 23 years. As a military soldier and government civilian, he lived in Germany, WA, MD, GA, VA & supported Operation Desert Shield and many others hotspots in Europe and the Middle East. He always went above and beyond in whatever job he was tasked to do. He was a born leader and mentor and took care of his people to the best of his ability. He was greatly respected by those he worked with and he was very close to his work family and will be missed by all who were close to him throughout the many years he served his country both in & out of uniform.
Services for Richard will be at Ft. Sam Houston on October 21, 2021 at Shelter #2 at 10:15. Richard will be interred with full military honors. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to organizations that support Homeless Veterans.
